Design and Modeling
Students discover the design process and develop an understanding of the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives. Students use the industry software Autodesk Inventor Professional to create amazing three dimension models. Students learn how to model products such as an arbor press, miniature train, and hydraulic arm assemblies.
Automation and Robotics
Students learn about the history and impact of automation and robotics as they explore mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems. Using the VEX Robotics® platform, students apply what they know to design and program traffic lights, robotic arms, and more.
Brown County High School is proud to offer a complete 4-year program with the opportunity to earn dual credits in three courses. Our engineering program prepares students for both post-secondary education and the workforce. Students learn a wide range of skills that apply to many different industries and branches of engineering. Students have experiences with Computer Aided-Design software, Robotics, 3D Printing, CNC Machining, Laser Cutting, and much more. We truly offer a world class engineering program in a small school setting.
The PLTW Biomedical Science program is a series of three courses offered at BCHS: Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems, and Medical Interventions. The courses in the program allow students to engage in activities and projects that mirror the real-world experiences of biomedical professionals.
Principles of Biomedical Science
In the first course, Principles of Biomedical Science, students attempt to solve the mysterious death of Anna Garcia by investigating and analyzing information regarding her health, family history to help them ultimately determine her cause of death. Students solve these problems by collecting and analyzing data using equipment and technology that biomedical professionals use every day. Students who wish to continue have the potential to take two more courses, Human Body Systems and Medical Interventions, in their high school career.
