Friday, September 20th   SOAR Behavior Reward Field Trip in December:  Students must earn the field trip by not having more than one discipline referral to the office from August 7th until the time of the field trip.  Students are also disqualified if they are suspended from school during the semester.   September Attendance Challenge Standings:  1st Place - Mrs. Sumner, 2nd Place - Mr. Finley, 3rd Place - Mrs. Hendey, 4th Place - Mrs. Owens, 5th Place - Mrs. Oliver The Character Education Theme for September is RESPECT.  Respect for yourself and others is an integral component of good character.  Without respect, caring and empathy are empty expressions. Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing of Columbus will be hosting a regional Manufacturing Day on Thursday, October 3rd from 5:30-8pm.  Cummins, Faurecia, and NTN will also be participating. Manufacturing Day is designed to expand knowledge about and improve general public perception of manufacturing careers and manufacturing’s value to the U.S. economy.  Manufacturing Day is for students, parents, educators, media, customers, suppliers and the community at large. Visitors will learn about real career opportunities, training and resources.  Brown County Junior High is offering to transport students and parents to this event.  If you are interested in attending with your child, please call BCJHS at 812-988-6605 to reserve a space on the bus. Parents are not required to attend.  We are more than happy to transport your child to this event. After School Tutoring:  Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4pm beginning Wednesday, September 4th.  Please contact the BCJHS office at 988-6605 to confirm a spot. Homecoming Block Party:  Friday, September 27th behind BCI from 4:30-6pm.  All BCS Schools have been invited to participate in next week’s Spirit Week.  The themes for each day are as follows: Monday - Pajama day, Tuesday - Team Up Tuesday (dress as any team from a movie), Wednesday - The Greatest Showman - Circus Day, Thursday - Back to the Future - Throwback Day, Friday - Blue/Gold Day Volleyball will NOT practice today Cross Country will NOT practice today.  The teams will participate in the Eagle Classic tomorrow, Saturday, September 21st @ 9am @ Eagle Park Tennis will NOT practice today Football will NOT practice today Cheer will NOT practice today

Chinese Educator Visit



BCJHS hosted 25 educators from China on September 17th.  We gad a great time getting to know these dedicated educators and learning about their culture and educational system.  IMG_1905

Rotary Youth Leadership



The weekend of Oct. 18th - 20th is the Rotary Youth Leadership Weekend.  Applications are in the office if you are interested in developing your leadership skills, your college scholarship application and meeting new friends, pick one up today!  The applications are due Sept. 20th! Most expenses are fully covered for those selected for the trip!
