Tuesday, November 20th            BCJHS Thanksgiving Dinner:  Tuesday, November 20th @ 10:54am and 12pm - adult meal price is $8  SOAR Behavior Reward Field Trip in December:  Students must earn the field trip by not having more than one discipline referral to the office from September 4th until the time of the field trip.  Students are also disqualified if they are suspended from school during the semester.   November Attendance Challenge Standings:  1st Place - Mr. Schwenk, 2nd Place - Mrs. Stanley, 3rd Place - Mrs. Oliver, 4th Place - Mr. Wilcoxen, 5th Place - Mrs. Sumner The Character Education Theme for September is Trustworthiness.  Trust can't be granted; it can only be earned.  Deliver on your promises.  Act honestly at every turn. Congratulations to the BCJHS "We the People" Team!!  They placed 2nd in the Regional Competition on, Saturday, November 17th @ Hamilton Southeastern HS.  They now advance to the state finals on Tuesday, December 11th in Indianapolis. Mid-Term Progress Report Check:  Parents are reminded that this Wednesday, November 14th marks the mid-term of this 9 week grading period.  Please take time to review your child's grades and contact teacher if you have questions or concerns. Robotics Club:  NO practice today Book Club will meet today during 1st lunch 7th & 8th Grade Boys' Basketball will practice today from 3-5:30pm @ BCI 7th & 8th Grade Girls' Basketball will practice after school today until 5pm

BCJHS Students Work on Communication Skills



A big thanks to Cook Medical Engineers Carrie Grant and Pat McElhaney for spending their entire day with our students working on communication skills.  Students were introduced to some basic communication exercises that Cook Medical uses through their Toastmasters Program.  Toastmasters is a national organization that focuses on developing strong communication skills in individuals.  Carrie GrantPat McElhaney

Are you interested in playing chess and want to meet others who also enjoy it?  Are you interested in learning how to play? Mrs. Oliver will be sponsoring a chess club the next four Tuesdays beginning today, Tuesday, November 13th.  The club will meet in room 04 from 3-4pm. If you have a chess set of your own, please bring it to the meeting. There will be a chess tournament at the end of the four weeks. Track and Field



There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 20, during Advisory for anyone interested in being part of the track and field teams this spring. This includes those already in a winter sport.  The meeting for the girls will be in Mr. Myers room(317), and the boys will meet with Mr. Wrightsman in 316.  Please sign up on the door of each coach's room.


Opportunities for work at Cummins



Cummins is currently looking for candidates to fill spring School to Work positions.  These positions have the potential to extend beyond the spring.  Candidates must be enrolled as full-time students and maintain a minimum grade point average.  High school students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater.  The required cumulative GPA for college students is 2.5 or greater. Attached is a list of available STW positions.  Pay is as follows: Administrative positions:  $11.25/hr; Technical positions:  $13.90/hr  Interested students should apply online at www.careers.cummins.com as soon as possible.  STW
