On behalf of myself and our entire staff, welcome to Brown County Junior High School.  Brown County Junior High School is fully accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.  Our highly qualified staff is committed to providing all students with learning opportunities that will allow them to develop their potential and pursue excellence in a safe and positive environment.

Brown County Junior High School serves as the bridge between the intermediate school and the high school.  Our students will experience lockers and timed passing periods for the first time in their academic lives.  Our students will operate on a 7 period day comprised of five core subjects (Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Studies, Health and Wellness Education) and two additional electives that may be a semester or year-long in length.  In addition to our academic curriculum, Brown County Junior High School offers students the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular programs such as sports, clubs, and academic teams.

As parents, I would like to assure you that our entire staff is dedicated to making your child’s transition from junior high to high school as smooth as possible.  It is our goal to prepare all of our students with the academic and social skills necessary to achieve success at the high school level.  We look forward to working with you as together we guide your sons and daughters through this exciting and sometimes difficult stage of their educational life.  Our staff is always willing to assist you and your child, so please do not hesitate to contact us.  It is the partnership between parents and school that is so vital to the success of each student.  It is my sincerest hope that Brown County Junior High School will prove to be a very positive experience for both you and your child.  If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 812-988-6605 or bgarman@browncountyschools.com.
