Welcome

SHANE KILLINGER - PRINCIPAL

skillingerWelcome to Brown County High School, home of the Eagles! We are looking forward to another successful and exciting year at BCHS.  The staff at BCHS will strive daily to reach every student so that they all may become innovative, critical thinkers, and will be able to compete successfully in the global community.  As an Eagle, students and staff are given the opportunity to maintain and promote the fine traditions that have made Brown County High School a great place to be a part of.

I welcome you to our school’s website and hope that you will find it a useful tool as it provides much information about our High School. Hopefully, you will find the answers to all of your questions and inquiries on our site, but if not, please do not hesitate to call any of our staff for assistance.  Furthermore, I hope that our website will keep you up to date with the academic and social occurrences that take place throughout the school year.  You will find day-to-day events, pictures, and important announcements, etc. posted for our school community to see on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Parents should feel comfortable contacting their student’s teacher at any time for an update on their child’s progress.  This shows our students that their education and work is important to everyone involved.  Furthermore, students are expected to meet the high expectations in place for behavior which are consistently and firmly supported by the entire staff and parents. Following school rules and displaying the virtues of respect, honor and effort is important to all of us for maintaining a safe and positive environment for maximum learning.

So long as the staff, parents, and students are committed to working together to meet the needs of our student population, together we will build a school that will maximize student learning and achievement; while at the same time provide all students an opportunity to learn and grow academically and socially. Brown County High School will graduate not only well educated students, but responsible young adults who are well prepared to enter the world as productive and positive individuals. It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to traveling down this exciting road with you; the students, parents, and staff of Brown County High School!

GO EAGLES !!!!!!!!!

CHUCK HUTCHINS - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Hello and welcome to Brown County High School’s webpage. I am really excited to begin my tenure as the assistant principal here at the high school. I am beginning my 4th year in Brown County Schools and couldn’t be happier with my decision to come and work here. We have an amazing community and school system that I am proud to be a part of.

I spent the first 17 years of my career in education as an English teacher. I have coached basketball in some capacity each of those years and have been a varsity coach for the last 12 years. This year I am moving from the classroom and into administration and I couldn’t be more excited for the new opportunity. In addition, my wife, Jaimie, and I are expecting our first child (a girl!) in December. Jaimie works in Greenwood as an occupational therapist. It’s definitely both a busy and exciting time in our household.

I am looking forward to a great school year and hope to meet as many students and parents as possible at various events throughout the year. If I can ever be of any help to you at all please let me know. Let’s have a great year and Go Eagles!
