Federal law requires that schools identify limited English proficient students in grades K-12, assess their progress in English language proficiency, and provide eligible children with services to increase their English proficiency as well as academic achievement. WIDA ACCESS is the annual assessment Indiana has selected to determine a student’s current level of English proficiency.
