Tuesday, October 1st

 Fall Break:  October 7th-11th (No School) 

Friday, October 4th – End of the 1st Grading Period

SOAR Behavior Reward Field Trip in December:  Students must earn the field trip by not having more than one discipline referral to the office from August 7th until the time of the field trip.  Students are also disqualified if they are suspended from school during the semester.  

September Attendance Challenge Standings:  1st Place – Mrs. Sumner, 2nd Place – Mr. Finley, 3rd Place – Mrs. Hendey, 4th Place – Mrs. Stanley, 5th Place – Mrs. Owens

The Character Education Theme for October is Acceptance.  Good character requires that we respect other’s differences.

Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing of Columbus will be hosting a regional Manufacturing Day on Thursday, October 3rd from 5:30-8pm.  Cummins, Faurecia, and NTN will also be participating. Manufacturing Day is designed to expand knowledge about and improve general public perception of manufacturing careers and manufacturing’s value to the U.S. economy.  Manufacturing Day is for students, parents, educators, media, customers, suppliers and the community at large. Visitors will learn about real career opportunities, training and resources.  Brown County Junior High is offering to transport students and parents to this event.  If you are interested in attending with your child, please call BCJHS at 812-988-6605 to reserve a space on the bus. Parents are not required to attend.  We are more than happy to transport your child to this event.

After School Tutoring:  Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4pm beginning Wednesday, September 4th.  Please contact the BCJHS office at 988-6605 to confirm a spot.

1st Lunch Book Club will meet today.  2nd Lunch Book Club will meet this Friday, October 4th

Volleyball will practice today until 5:30pm

Cross Country will practice today until 4:30pm

Tennis players should turn their uniforms into Mr. Pagnard this week.

Football and Cheer will host Owen Valley today @ 6pm
