BCJHS Announcements



Friday, January 18th  

SOAR Behavior Reward Field Trip in May:  Students must earn the field trip by not having more than one discipline referral to the office from January 7th until the time of the field trip.  Students are also disqualified if they are suspended from school during the semester.  

January Attendance Challenge Standings:  1st Place – Mrs. Oliver, 2nd Place – Mrs. Stanley, 3rd Place – Mr. Finley, 4th Place – Mr. Schwenk, 5th Place – Mr. Harmon

The Character Education Theme for January is Fairness.  Fairness is not favoring one above another.  Fairness is to see things from the other side or other point of view.  Fairness is getting to know someone without pre-judging them.

SOAR Focus for the week of January 7th is “O” for On-Task

Grade Cards were mailed home today, Friday, January 11th

January Career Education:  Friday, January 18th – Topic is Cybersecurity

BCJHS Spelling Bee:  Friday, January 18th during 1st period

Students interested in joining the BCJHS Show Choir should see Mr. Lyng for information.

If you are part of the Footloose cast, you will have rehearsal after school today from 3:30-4:30pm

Regional Chess Competition:  If you are interested in participating in a regional chess tournament, see Mrs. Oliver.  She will be organizing teams of 4 players for the tournament which is on February 23rd in Evansville.  Practices will be on Mondays and Fridays from 3-4pm. Please sign up on Mrs. Oliver’s door by next Wednesday, January 23rd.  

7th & 8th Boys’ Basketball will practice today from 5-6:30pm.  The teams will participate in the WIC Tournament tomorrow, Saturday, January 19th.  The 7th grade will play @ Owen Valley @ 10am and the 8th grade will play @ Edgewood @ 10am.

7th & 8th Girls’ Basketball will practice after school today until 5pm.  The teams will participate in the Columbus Central Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, January 19th.  The tournament begins @ 9:30am.

Wrestling will practice after school until 5pm @ BCI.  The wrestling invitational scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 19th has been postponed.
